The New Baguette is a plant-based recipe resource created by Alexandra Shytsman back in 2016. Her goal is to make plant-based home cooking more accessible, craveable, and fun. Specifically, she aims to demystify cooking with whole-foods ingredients like vegetables, beans and legumes, tofu and tempeh, nuts and seeds, and whole grains.
Here, you’ll find upwards of 400 rigorously-tested recipes, with a primary focus on globally-inspired weeknight dinners, as well as meal prep, homemade sauces and dressings, festive dinner party recipes, and Eastern European dishes inspired by Alex’s Ukrainian roots.
Alex believes that eating more plant-based whole foods is one of the most powerful things we can do for our wellbeing. However, she prioritizes gentleness over perfection, and doesn’t believe we need to be 100% vegan to feel better. Learn more about Alex and her philosophy here!
Why “The New Baguette”
This name serves as a tribute to Alex’s love for French culture, where a baguette is a staple at nearly every meal. “The New Baguette” is a representation of a new type of eating, where we think beyond what’s convenient and expected, and consider health and sustainability first.
