I am so excited/honored/anxious to share this with you all today: a few months ago, a producer from the NY Daily News asked me if I’d like to participate in a video series featuring New Yorkers who cook their traditional ethnic foods with their families. My mom and I signed on in a heartbeat, and now the video is here.
The video shows us preparing a casual Russian/Ukrainian meal: beef cutlets with buckwheat and a creamy mushroom gravy. The recipe is available on the NY Daily News website.
I have to admit, it was super weird to let a stranger into my home to film us cooking, and to have to describe every step of something we usually do on auto-pilot mode. Aside from my nasal-sounding voice, I’m really happy with the way the video turned out and so thrilled to have this memory with my mom. Neither of us ever thought we’d ever be in a major city newspaper yet there we are – and on the same page as the creator of the cronut, no less!
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supports my blogging efforts. You all rock and your encouragement means everything to me. Sharing my passion for food and cooking with others genuinely makes me so happy and I hope to continue doing it for many, many years to come. Thank you!
You and your mom are looking great and the cutlets with kasha smell so GOOD 🙂 Congratulations on the publications
. Very proud, too. Just watched it with my mom. All the best and more of these, please!

Also, awesome new blog design! Love the new header, did you design it yourself?
Cheers,

Thank you for all the kind words, Declan! I’m glad to have been of help to you two.
I did not do the header myself but would be happy to refer you to the person who did 🙂
