Hello, world!
On this glorious Monday morning, I am so excited to introduce you to the Salt + Sage Collective.
A few months ago, a very special trio of women invited me to join them in forming a collective. The purpose of the group would be to “elevate culinary wellness” – meaning, we would help like-minded women in the food and health fields who are looking to grow their businesses; i.e. food bloggers, health coaches, fitness professionals, and other wellness entrepreneurs. The best part? We would do it in the form of a retreat in the Catskills! Needless to say, I said yes.
After weeks of back and forth emails, conference calls, and discussions on exactly what shade of grey our logo should be, Salt + Sage Collective has finally launched and we’re ready to spread the word!
So let me tell you about this trio. First up, Jacqui Somen, my former manager at Natural Gourmet Institute, current badass brand consultant for female health & wellness entrepreneurs, and someone I am lucky to call a mentor. Next, Kayleen St. John, another former colleague from NGI who’s currently utilizing the fancy letters after her name (she’s a Registered Dietitian with a Master’s in Nutrition from NYU) to grow Euphebe, a revolutionary food delivery start-up in Brooklyn. Finally, Rebecca Ffrench, three-time cookbook author and food stylist (you may remember reading about her here).
Our first retreat will take place January 27-29, 2017 at the super-freakin’-cool Foxfire Mountain House in the Catskills. From Friday through Sunday, we’ll host workshops, provide consultations, and brainstorm as a group, all while forming lasting connections with like-minded food babes. Jacqui’s workshop will teach you how to build a sustainable brand, Kayleen’s will teach you how to effectively communicate nutrition information, Rebecca will introduce you to the complex world of cookbook publishing (including how to score an agent), and I will lead a workshop on food styling and photography. The retreat fee includes accommodations at the beautiful Foxfire Mountain House, as well as all meals (plus evening wine by the fireplace), morning yoga and outdoor activities.
